The aim of the summer school is to introduce social network methods available in the computer package Pajek, and to integrate these methods with the relevant theories. There will be five tutors, three methodologists in charge of days 2-7 and two the substantive social scientists in charge of days 1 and 8. In addition, two invited speakers will be present on day 1. The substantive social scientists and the guest speakers will discuss extensive research problems that will give applications of the social network methods taught in the summer school. Students will work on projects during the afternoon sessions of days 2-7, in groups of 2-3 persons. The projects can be selected among research problems and data sets provided by the substantive social scientists, or the problems and data sets brought by the participants themselves.
